In Japan, there is an ancient art form called kintsugi. When a piece of pottery is broken, instead of tossing these pieces in the trash, craftsmen practice kintsugi, or “golden joinery,” which is a method of restoring a broken piece with a lacquer that is mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. The pottery is often more beautiful than it was before. This art also conveys a philosophy not of replacement, but of awe, reverence, and restoration.
Just what God does to us - no matter how broken, he mends us and makes us stronger and more beautiful than before.
